Help! My Daughter-in-Law Wants Me to Sell My Home for Their House
Hey everyone,
I really need some advice. My name is Sadie, and I’m in a bit of a pickle. My daughter-in-law, Alexa, has been pushing me to sell my apartment to help my son, Bobby, build their dream house. I love my family and want to support them, but I’m also worried about my own future. I don’t want to end up alone and homeless when I’m older.
Here’s the deal: Bobby and Alexa have been saving up for a while, but they’re still short on funds. Alexa thinks that if I sell my place, it would give them the boost they need to get their project off the ground. She even suggested that I could move in with them once the house is built. But honestly, I’m not sure how I feel about that. I value my independence and the thought of not having my own space is really unsettling.
I’ve worked hard to have my own apartment, and it’s my safe haven. The idea of giving it up is scary. Plus, what if things don’t go as planned with their house? I could end up in a really bad situation.
So, what do you all think? Should I sell my apartment to help Bobby and Alexa, or should I hold onto it for my own security? Has anyone been in a similar situation? How did you handle it? Any advice would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks a bunch,
Sadie
