Need Advice: Mom Blaming Me for Financial Struggles
Hey everyone,
I really need some advice and support right now. My mom just hit me with some pretty harsh words, and I’m feeling really down. She said, “To twoja wina, że nie macie pieniędzy. Nikt nie zmuszał cię do małżeństwa i rodzenia dzieci,” which basically means, “It’s your fault you don’t have money. No one forced you to get married and have kids.” Ouch, right?
A bit of background: I’m married to Jerry, and we have two amazing kids, Nova and Vincent. We’ve been struggling financially for a while now, and it’s been really tough. Jerry works long hours, and I’m doing my best to manage the household and take care of the kids. We’re trying to make ends meet, but it feels like we’re always falling short.
My mom, Camila, has always been pretty blunt, but this time it really stung. I know she’s worried about us, but her words just made me feel worse. I’m already stressed out, and now I feel like a failure. I didn’t expect her to be so unsupportive.
Has anyone else been in a similar situation? How do you deal with family members who are critical instead of supportive? I love my mom, but I don’t know how to handle her comments. Should I talk to her about how I feel, or just let it go? Any advice on how to improve our financial situation would also be super helpful.
Thanks in advance for any tips or words of encouragement. I really appreciate it.
