Help! My Parents Want to Send Grandma to a Nursing Home
Hey everyone,
I really need some advice. I was just chilling in my room when I overheard my parents, Jeffrey and Ella, talking about sending my grandma (we call her Babciu) to a nursing home. My mom, Isabella, was saying that it’s time to “put her in a home” because it’s getting too hard to take care of her. My dad, Charles, seemed to agree, but he looked really sad about it.
I’m super close to my Babciu, and the thought of her going to a nursing home breaks my heart. She’s always been there for me, and I can’t imagine her not being around. I know she’s getting older and needs more help, but I feel like there has to be another way.
I’m not sure how to bring this up with my parents without causing a huge fight. I get that they’re stressed and probably feel like they don’t have any other options, but I want to find a solution that keeps Babciu with us. Maybe there are services or resources we haven’t considered yet?
Has anyone else been in a similar situation? How did you handle it? Any tips on how to talk to my parents about this without making things worse? I’m really lost here and could use some guidance.
Thanks a ton,
Nova
For several years I found a disabled vet I paid $7.00 an hour plus room and board. Same room my husband had a hospital bed. I’m sure you could find some one on soc.sec. to work a plan with. Lots of people are barely surviving. We kind of adopted the vet. It helped all of us.
