“At 7 AM, I Brought Fresh Food for My Kids, But My Son Didn’t Even Thank Me and Slammed the Door in My Face: I’m Sure It’s My Daughter-in-Law’s Influence”

Our lives have always revolved around our son, Michael. My husband and I had him later in life, and from the moment he was born, we did everything we could to shower him with love and care. Growing up in a broken family myself, I never received enough affection from my mother. So, I vowed it would be different with Michael. We worked hard and sacrificed vacations to ensure his well-being.

Michael was our pride and joy. We made sure he had the best education, the best clothes, and the best opportunities. We were always there for him, supporting him in every way possible. But now, things have changed, and I believe my daughter-in-law, Emily, is behind it.

It all started when Michael met Emily in college. She seemed nice enough at first, but as their relationship progressed, I noticed subtle changes in Michael’s behavior. He became more distant and less communicative. He used to call me every day, but now weeks would go by without a word.

I tried to brush it off, thinking it was just a phase. But things took a turn for the worse after they got married. Emily seemed to have a strong influence over Michael, and I felt like I was losing my son. She was always polite to me, but there was something about her that made me uneasy.

One morning, I decided to bring fresh food for Michael and Emily. It was 7 AM, and I had spent hours preparing their favorite dishes. I wanted to surprise them and show them that I still cared. When I arrived at their house, I knocked on the door, excited to see their reaction.

Michael opened the door, but instead of the warm welcome I expected, he looked annoyed. “Mom, what are you doing here so early?” he asked, his tone cold.

“I brought some fresh food for you and Emily,” I said, trying to keep my voice cheerful.

He didn’t even look at the food. “We don’t need this,” he said flatly. “You should have called before coming.”

I was taken aback by his response. “I just wanted to surprise you,” I said softly.

“Well, we don’t appreciate surprises,” he snapped. “Please leave.”

Before I could say anything else, he slammed the door in my face. I stood there in shock, holding the food that I had spent hours preparing. Tears welled up in my eyes as I realized that my son no longer valued my efforts.

I couldn’t understand what had gone wrong. Michael had always been so loving and appreciative. But now, he seemed like a different person. I couldn’t help but think that Emily had something to do with it. She had always been very controlling and possessive of Michael.

As I walked back to my car, I felt a deep sense of sadness and betrayal. I had given everything for my son, and now he was pushing me away. I didn’t know what to do or how to fix things.

Over the next few weeks, I tried reaching out to Michael, but he ignored my calls and messages. It was as if he had completely cut me out of his life. The pain was unbearable, and I felt like I was losing a part of myself.

I confided in my husband about what had happened, but he didn’t know how to help either. We both felt helpless and heartbroken.

Months went by, and the distance between us only grew wider. Michael never reached out, and Emily never made any effort to mend the relationship. It was clear that they wanted nothing to do with us.

I still think about that morning at 7 AM when I brought fresh food for my kids. It was a turning point in our relationship, and things have never been the same since. I’m sure it’s my daughter-in-law’s influence that has driven a wedge between us.

As much as it hurts, I’ve come to accept that some things are beyond my control. I’ve learned to cherish the memories of the times when Michael was still my loving son. But deep down, I’ll always hope that one day he’ll realize how much we love him and come back to us.
