Help! I Invited My Ex-Daughter-in-Law to Move In and Now My Son Won’t Talk to Me

Hey everyone,

I really need some advice and support right now. So, here’s the deal: I recently invited my ex-daughter-in-law, Anna, to move in with me. She’s been having a tough time since the divorce, and I wanted to help her out, especially for the sake of my grandson, Bryan. Anna and Bryan have been living with me for a few months now, and things have been going pretty well on that front.

But here’s where it gets complicated. My son, Stephen, is really upset about this whole situation. He feels like I’ve taken sides and betrayed him by letting Anna move in. Since then, he’s been distant and barely talks to me. It’s breaking my heart because I love both my son and my grandson so much, and I just wanted to do what I thought was best for everyone.

I feel like I’m stuck between a rock and a hard place. On one hand, I want to support Anna and Bryan, but on the other hand, I don’t want to lose my relationship with Stephen. I’ve tried talking to him about it, but he just shuts down and won’t listen.

Has anyone else been in a similar situation? How did you handle it? Should I ask Anna to move out to try and mend things with Stephen, or is there another way to make this work? Any advice or words of wisdom would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance for your help!
