Need Advice: Can’t Live Alone After Hospital Discharge
Hey everyone,
I could really use some advice right now. I just got discharged from the hospital, and the doctors told my kids that I can’t live alone for the time being and need some care. This has thrown me for a loop, and I’m not sure what to do next.
A bit of background: My name is Ale, and I have three amazing kids—Robert, Anthony, and Chloe. They’ve been super supportive, but they all have their own lives and responsibilities. Robert has a demanding job, Anthony is in the middle of a big project at work, and Chloe is juggling college and a part-time job. I don’t want to be a burden on them, but I also understand that I need help right now.
I’m feeling pretty overwhelmed and unsure about my options. Should I look into hiring a professional caregiver? Maybe consider moving in with one of my kids temporarily? Or are there other solutions I haven’t thought of yet?
I’ve heard about some community programs that offer support for people in my situation, but I’m not sure where to start looking. If any of you have been through something similar or have any suggestions, I’d really appreciate your input.
Thanks in advance for your help!
Ale
