Kicked My Stepmom Out After Dad’s Death – Was I Wrong?

Hey everyone,

I really need some advice and perspective on a situation that’s been eating me up. So, my dad recently passed away, and it’s been a tough time for me. After his death, I decided to ask my stepmom, Chloe, to move out of our family home. I know it sounds harsh, but hear me out.

Chloe and I never really got along. She married my dad a few years ago, and things have always been tense between us. After Dad died, I felt like I needed space to grieve and process everything without her around. Plus, the house has always been in our family, and I felt it was right for me to stay there.

But now, my relatives – especially Bryan and Valentina – are saying that what I did was really cruel and heartless. They think I should have let Chloe stay longer or at least helped her find a new place. I get where they’re coming from, but at the same time, I felt like I needed to prioritize my own well-being.

Vincent and Scott are more on my side, saying that it’s my home and I have the right to decide who lives there. But the guilt is still eating at me. Did I make the wrong call? Should I have handled things differently?

I’m really torn and could use some outside opinions. What would you have done in my shoes? Any advice on how to make peace with my decision or maybe even make amends with Chloe?

Thanks a ton,

Gianna
