Struggling Father Kicks Out Son and Pregnant Daughter-in-Law, Receives Unexpected Call
Frank had always prided himself on being a hardworking man. After losing his wife to a long illness, he had taken on the role of both mother and father to his children, Ethan and Ruby. Life had been tough, but they managed to get by with Frank working long hours at the local factory.
One chilly evening, Frank returned home from a grueling shift. As he stepped into the living room, he noticed Ruby sitting on the couch, her eyes red and puffy from crying. Concerned, he hurried over to her.
“Ruby, what’s wrong?” Frank asked, his voice filled with worry.
Ruby looked up at her father, tears streaming down her face. “It’s Ethan and Neveah,” she sobbed. “They had a huge fight, and Ethan said some really hurtful things.”
Frank’s heart sank. Ethan had been struggling to find a job for months, and the stress had taken a toll on his relationship with his pregnant wife, Neveah. Frank had tried to be supportive, but it seemed things had reached a breaking point.
“Where are they now?” Frank asked, trying to keep his voice steady.
Ruby wiped her tears and pointed towards the front door. “Ethan stormed out, and Neveah went after him. I don’t know where they went.”
Frank felt a surge of anger and frustration. He loved his son dearly, but Ethan’s inability to find work and his constant arguments with Neveah were tearing the family apart. He decided it was time to have a serious talk with Ethan.
Frank grabbed his coat and headed out into the cold night. He walked through the neighborhood, calling out Ethan’s name. After what felt like an eternity, he finally spotted Ethan and Neveah sitting on a park bench, both looking defeated.
“Ethan! Neveah!” Frank called out as he approached them.
Ethan looked up, his face filled with guilt. “Dad, I’m sorry,” he said quietly.
Frank took a deep breath, trying to keep his emotions in check. “Ethan, we need to talk. This can’t go on any longer.”
Neveah, who was visibly pregnant, looked at Frank with pleading eyes. “Please, Frank, we don’t want to cause any more trouble.”
Frank sighed and sat down beside them. “I know things have been tough, but we need to find a solution. Ethan, you need to step up and take responsibility for your family.”
Ethan nodded, tears welling up in his eyes. “I know, Dad. I’ve been trying so hard to find a job, but nothing seems to work out.”
Frank put a hand on his son’s shoulder. “We’ll figure this out together. But you can’t keep taking your frustrations out on Neveah. She needs your support now more than ever.”
Neveah reached for Ethan’s hand, squeezing it gently. “We’ll get through this,” she said softly.
Frank felt a glimmer of hope as he looked at the young couple. They had a long road ahead of them, but with determination and support, they could overcome their challenges.
As they walked back home together, Frank’s phone rang. He answered it, surprised to hear his own mother’s voice on the other end.
“Frank, I heard about what’s been happening,” she said gently. “I want you all to come stay with me for a while. We can figure things out together as a family.”
Tears filled Frank’s eyes as he thanked his mother for her kindness. It was a reminder that even in the darkest times, family could provide the strength and support needed to overcome any obstacle.
